Betty Boop
Betty is a dark bay Welsh Mare with chrome all around with a blaze that runs under her chin and back towards her throat and a belly patch! She came to Delaney Stables when she was a 1 yo in 2010 then was started slowly on the lunge before learning to long lines. She is one of Jill’s favorite fun rides (bareback of course!) but her primary job is teaching people all sorts of things from learning to ride to how to braid.
Indiana
Indiana is a grade gelding born in 2011. Jill bought Indiana when he was a green broke 5 yo and has slowly and steadily brought him up through the levels. He is currently being used in the lesson program for more advanced students. His schooling is at 3rd level dressage and he plays well with all the TREC obstacles.
Comanche – For Sale
Comanche is a draft cross that came to us in the fall of 2020 as a 5 year old. He is a delightfully well-balanced horse that is looking for a wonderful person to take him onto his next chapter.
Connie
Connie is a 2018 Draft cross mare. She has a wonderfully curious personality and is a joy to work with. She showed at GMHA in the fall of 2021 as a three year old winning her class! After a winter off she went back to showing and started her career as a lesson horse.
Noodle
San Miguel, affectionately known as Noodle, is a 2018 Oldenburg Sport Horse who came to Delaney Stables in the late fall of 2023. The current plan for Noodle is to be Jill’s personal horse for competition and pleasure.
Nugget
Nugget is an beautiful 12hh chocolate pony that is delighted to help introduce little people to horses. Born in 2010, Nugget plans to have a long career here and looks forward to meeting you!
Mitchell
Mitchell is a Newfoundland pony who came to Delaney Stables in 2018 from a childhood riding friend of Jill’s. He is a beautiful bay pony born in 2000 without any markings and is teaching all sorts of kids about ponies.
Peanut
Peanut was bought as a 2 yo grade horse to work into the lesson program. Jill started him lightly then gave him most of the year to grow. He was put into light regular work for his 3 year old summer. 2024 is his fourth summer and he will go into full time work with the plans of introducing him to the more advanced lesson student over the next year. Currently he looks to be maturing into a Suffolk Punch or Suffolk Punch cross.
Petey
Petey was a 12.1 hh draft cross that moved into Delaney Stables with Jill on December 15, 2004. Before that he was a pulling pony with friends of ours in Woodstock. He was an amazing teacher who will own a part of Jill’s heart, and many other hearts, forever.
Custom Design (CD)
CD was a 13.3 hh welsh/ halflinger cross that moved into Delaney Stables in 2006 from Rough Terrain Farm in Randolph. He taught many adults to ride through 2nd level dressage and many kids how to trot! He will also live in our hearts forever.
Empiric (MP)
MP taught in Delaney Stables lesson program for four years. He first came to us as a training horse when his owner, Krista Alderdice (yes, of Blue Collar Runners!) wanted to have some help with training. When Krista retired MP from competitive Endurance riding, he came to teach with us. He has now fully retired and returned home to enjoy his life with Krista.
Sorcerer
Sorcerer was a competitive trail horse owned by Ed Reynolds. He had been coming to Delaney Stables since 2010 then stayed to live out his years here in 2015. He enjoyed teaching people to be comfortable around horses, how to groom, and how to graze!
