The Horse Partnership Program is an opportunity for current Delaney Stables students to spend more time with one horse and become more involved in barn life.
A partnership can be a great next step for a student who wants more riding and horsemanship experience, is considering horse ownership, or simply wants to develop a deeper relationship with one of our horses.
The Horse Partnership Program is available to current Delaney Stables students by arrangement.
Why Join the Horse Partnership Program?
A partnership can be a good way to:
~ Learn about the care, work, and responsibility involved in horse ownership before making that commitment.
~ Enjoy consistent riding time without the financial and long-term commitment of owning a horse.
~ Continue riding while you are between horses.
~ Build a deeper partnership with one horse while developing your horsemanship skills.
~ Become more involved in the day-to-day experience of caring for and working with a horse.
How the Program Works
Horse Partnerships are available for 2 or 3 days per week and require a renewable six-month commitment.
The first and last month’s partnership fees are due when the partnership begins.
One scheduled partnership day each week must be used for a lesson. Partners are welcome to schedule additional lessons on their other partnership days as well.
Your partnership days are your regular days to work with your designated horse. Partners may also visit and spend time with their horse at other times by prior arrangement.
What the Partnership Includes:
~ Use of one designated horse on the agreed-upon days each week.
~ The opportunity to visit and spend time with your horse at other times by prior arrangement.
~ Routine veterinary and medical care.
~ Use of the horse’s tack and grooming equipment.
Partnership fees do not include:
~ Lesson fees.
~ A prorated share of routine farrier expenses, based on the number of partnership days.
~ Personal riding equipment, tack, or grooming supplies purchased for your own use.
Riding Privileges & Responsibilities
A partnership is an opportunity to become more independent, but it is also a responsibility.
The partnership horse may only be used for activities and skills that have been introduced and approved during lessons. If you would like to try something outside of those activities, you must receive permission from the owner beforehand.
This helps make sure that the horse, rider, and activity are all appropriate and that everyone understands what is expected.
Unauthorized use of the horse may result in immediate termination of the Horse Partnership Program without refund.
Is a Horse Partnership Right for You?
If you are a current Delaney Stables student and think you are ready for more time with a horse, let’s talk.
The right partnership depends on the horse, the student, the student’s experience, and what both are ready to take on. We will work together to determine whether a particular partnership is a good fit.
